Hey, it's Geb from Email Rev Lab!

At 10:48 PM last night, I signed up for Perfect Supplements' newsletter at the bottom of their homepage.

By 11:11 PM, nothing. No welcome email. Not in Primary. Not in Promotions. Not even in spam.

Twenty-three minutes of silence from a brand built on trust.

The Brand Bridge:

Kristen and Paul Morelli started Perfect Supplements in 2009 because they were tired of junk supplements loaded with hidden synthetics and zero transparency. Today, they run independent third-party lab testing on every single finished batch and post the results publicly for anyone to see. That's a rare level of accountability in this industry.

But that level of care in the lab doesn't match what's happening in the inbox.

The Pop-Up Test:

There's no pop-up. Not on load, not on exit, not on scroll.

The only way to subscribe is to scroll all the way to the footer and find a plain two-field form with no incentive. No discount. No lead magnet. Just "Subscribe to our newsletter."

According to Wisepops 2026 data, e-commerce pop-ups convert at an average of 4.82%. Footer-embedded forms are the lowest-performing signup tool across every device. Perfect Supplements is relying entirely on the weakest option.

The Tech Test:

Signed up at 10:48 PM. Checked at 11:11 PM. Nothing arrived anywhere.

This means either the welcome flow doesn't exist or something is blocking delivery. In Klaviyo, one common culprit is Smart Sending being left on for the first email in a flow. It can silently suppress sends, especially for accounts that have emailed that address before.

The Inbox Test:

No email to evaluate. That's the whole problem.

The Email Creative Test:

Can't score what was never sent.

The Solution:

  1. Add a timed pop-up in Klaviyo (trigger at 8-10 seconds or 50% scroll). Offer 10-15% off or a free guide as the incentive. This moves signups from the lowest-converting placement to one that actually performs.

  2. Build or audit the welcome flow. The first email should fire within 5 minutes of signup. Deliver the incentive, introduce Kristen's founding story, and soft-sell the top product.

  3. In Klaviyo, set the welcome email trigger to "Joined List" and turn Smart Sending OFF for the first email only. This prevents Klaviyo from suppressing new subscribers who've had prior contact.

The Impact Statement:

Real-time welcome emails convert at 4.01% compared to 0.94% for delayed ones, according to Invesp. That's a 327% conversion gap. Every night, Perfect Supplements stays dark in the inbox; that gap compounds. Invesp

The Curiosity Hook:

Here's what I'm wondering: how many people signed up on perfectsupplements.com last night and quietly bounced to Amazon because nothing landed?

The Pitch:

Kristen built this brand on transparency and third-party accountability. The email infrastructure should reflect that same standard.

A working welcome flow with a pop-up is the most direct way to recover signups they're losing right now.

I send these audits daily because bottlenecks like this can be fixed in one day with the right information.

Want me to audit your Klaviyo account the same way?

Reply to this email and I'll send you a free breakdown of where your welcome series is leaking revenue.
