Hey, it's Geb from Email Rev Lab!
I signed up for Natrol's email list at 10:22 PM.
By 10:39 PM, nothing hit my inbox. Seventeen minutes. No welcome. No confirmation. No offer.
For a brand that's been helping people sleep since 1980, that's a rough way to start a relationship.

The Brand Bridge:
Elliott Balbert built Natrol around one idea: "natural control." Not synthetic. Not habit-forming. Just quality ingredients that work with your body. Forty-five years later, Natrol is the #1 melatonin brand in the US. Drug-free. NSF certified. Trusted by millions.
But trust doesn't start in the bottle. It starts in the inbox.
And right now, Natrol's email system is asleep at the wheel.
The Pop-up Test:
There isn't one.
No pop-up on the homepage. No slide-in. No exit intent offer. The only email capture is a plain form buried at the very bottom of the page. No discount attached. No lead magnet. No reason to hand over an email address beyond "stay up to date on all things Natrol."
That's not a capture strategy. That's a suggestion.
The Tech Test:
I signed up at 10:22 PM. Still nothing at 10:39 PM. That's a 17-minute gap before any welcome email showed up. Research from Invesp confirms that real-time welcome emails convert at 4.01% versus 0.94% for delayed sends. That's a 327% performance difference. Every minute past the sign-up, Natrol leaks conversion rate.
The Inbox Test:
No email arrived in time to evaluate. That tells you everything.
The Email Creative Test:
Can't score what doesn't exist. The welcome email is either broken, delayed past reason, or simply never triggered for this signup path.
The Fix (Klaviyo, 3 Steps):
Build an exit-intent pop-up with a real offer attached (discount code or sleep guide). Right now, there's nothing to capture a visitor who's leaving.
In Klaviyo, go to your welcome flow. Set the first email trigger to "immediately" (0-minute delay). If the flow doesn't exist, create one now.
Write the first welcome email in under 150 words. Confirm the sign-up. Deliver the offer. One CTA only: shop now.
74% of people expect a welcome email the moment they subscribe (Invesp). Natrol is missing that window entirely.
Here's what I'm curious about: if Natrol's melatonin helps you fall asleep in minutes, why is their welcome email taking 17-plus minutes to show up?
Natrol's reputation is real. Four decades of quality built it. They just need a Klaviyo welcome flow that moves as fast as their products work.
I send these audits daily because bottlenecks like this can be fixed in one day with the right information.
Want me to audit your Klaviyo account the same way?
Reply to this email, and I'll send you a free breakdown of where your welcome series is leaking revenue.
