Hey, it's Geb from Email Rev Lab!
I pulled up KAL Vitamins' website this morning. Browsed the whole thing. Checked their magnesium line, their Total Minerals+, and their blog.
Then I waited.
No pop-up appeared. No slide-in. No exit-intent form.
I left the site. No email arrived. Because there was nothing to sign up for in the first place.
For a brand running active promotions (20% off select mag products, right on the homepage), this is a serious problem. Every visitor who doesn't buy today is just... gone.

The Brand Behind the Gap
Chester Weldon founded KAL in 1932 to help his wife with leg cramps. That calcium powder, called "Kalcium," eventually led to KAL producing the first-ever multivitamin in the U.S. Today, every KAL product is triple-tested for purity, potency, and identity in their own facility.
That's 93 years of earned trust.
But trust doesn't follow someone to their inbox if you never ask for their email. Right now, every person who visits KAL's site and doesn't buy is gone forever. No second chance. No follow-up. No welcome flow to convert them later.
The Pop-up Test: FAIL
There is no pop-up. No slide-in. No sticky bar. Nothing.
The homepage banner is promoting a 20% discount on magnesium products. That offer has no capture mechanism attached to it. Visitors see the deal, browse, and leave.
A 10% discount pop-up with a 5-second delay would capture 3-8% of all site traffic as email subscribers immediately.
The Tech Test: N/A (Nothing to Test)
There's no Klaviyo flow to audit because there's no list being built.
No opt-in means no welcome sequence. No abandoned cart trigger. No post-purchase flow. The entire backend email system is dormant because the front door is shut.
The Inbox Test: N/A
Zero emails sent. Zero to grade.
The 20% promo banner on the homepage suggests KAL knows how to run a promotion. They just aren't capturing anyone to send it to.
The Email Creative Test: Potential Is There
KAL's blog is active. They have dietitian-authored content ("3 Healthy Recipes Your Kids Will Love"). They have a clear brand voice rooted in family and science.
The content for a great welcome sequence already exists. It just needs a form to feed it.
The Solution: One Klaviyo Setup, One Day
Step 1. Add a Klaviyo pop-up form to kalvitamins.com with a 5-second delay. Offer 15% off a first order. Target desktop and mobile separately so it doesn't kill mobile UX.
Step 2. Build a 3-email welcome flow in Klaviyo.
Email 1: Deliver the discount immediately (under 5 minutes). Email 2 (Day 2): Tell Chester Weldon's story. Email 3 (Day 4): Introduce their best-seller with social proof.
Step 3. Connect the homepage 20% magnesium promo directly to a dedicated landing page with its own Klaviyo opt-in. Capture buyers who are already warm from the banner.
The Impact Statement
Most supplement brands lose 60-80% of first-time visitors forever because they have no email capture. For a brand with KAL's traffic and name recognition, that's thousands of lost subscribers every month.
Here's what I'm curious about: KAL is actively promoting magnesium products on their homepage. How many of those visitors are leaving without a trace right now?
The Pitch
KAL has 93 years of trust, a science-backed product line, and active promotions running. They just need one afternoon in Klaviyo to start keeping the visitors that their SEO is already delivering.
I send these audits daily because bottlenecks like this can be fixed in one day with the right information.
Want me to audit your Klaviyo account the same way?
