Hey, it's Geb from Email Rev Lab!

I typed my email into BRAND'S Singapore's subscribe form at the bottom of their homepage.

The button said "Subscribe." I clicked it. And then I waited.

7 minutes later, nothing hit my inbox.

Not a welcome email. Not a discount. Not even a confirmation.

That's the moment I knew exactly what was costing them buyers, every day.

The Brand Bridge:

BRAND'S has been around since 1835. Their founder, Henderson William Brand, was a Royal Chef who created Essence of Chicken to help the ailing King George IV recover his health. The British monarchy gave the product a Royal Warrant in 1897. Today, they've sold over 150 million bottles across 19 countries and run their own Brain Research Centre right here in Singapore.

That's a legacy most supplement brands can only dream about.

But 190 years of trust doesn't fix a 7-minute email delay. A new subscriber who believed in BRAND'S is now staring at an empty inbox, wondering if they made a mistake.

The Pop-up Test:

There isn't one.

No pop-up. No exit intent. No timed overlay. The only sign-up option is buried at the very bottom of the page, beneath everything else.

Research from Klaviyo shows that 74% of people expect a welcome email immediately after subscribing. BRAND'S is making those people wait 7 minutes or more. That's 7 minutes for doubt to set in, for a competitor tab to get opened, for a buyer to simply forget they signed up.

The Tech Test:

The 7-minute delay is the primary bottleneck.

This isn't a content problem. It's a Klaviyo trigger problem. The welcome flow either isn't set up with a zero-delay trigger, or it isn't connected to the sign-up form at all.

The Inbox Test:

I still haven't received the email as of writing this. Which means I can't assess subject lines, tab placement, or creative. That tells me the problem is upstream of creative entirely.

The Email Creative Test:

Can't evaluate what never arrives.

The Fix (Klaviyo Steps):

  1. Go to Klaviyo > Flows > Create Flow > "Welcome Series." Set the trigger to "List: Newsletter Subscribers" and change the send delay to 0 minutes. Not 5. Not 15. Zero.

  2. Add a pop-up using Klaviyo's Sign-Up Forms. Set it to trigger after 8 seconds on-site or 50% scroll depth. Use a specific promise in the headline ("Get our wellness guide free" or "10% off your first order").

  3. In the first welcome email, confirm the sign-up immediately. One line that says they're in, then deliver the promise. Keep it under 200 words for mobile.

The Impact Statement:

Research shows that 74% of subscribers expect an email the moment they sign up. Every minute BRAND'S waits, that window of peak interest closes a little more.

The Curiosity Hook:

Here's what I'm curious about: of the millions of people who trust BRAND'S across 19 countries, how many are landing on the Singapore site right now, typing in their email, and then never hearing back?

The Pitch:

BRAND'S has the science, the 190-year history, and the trust. They just need email infrastructure to match. A brand that earned a Royal Warrant in 1897 deserves a welcome flow that works in under 60 seconds.

I send these audits daily because bottlenecks like this can be fixed in one day with the right information.

Want me to audit your Klaviyo account the same way?

Reply to this email and I'll send you a free breakdown of where your welcome series is leaking revenue.
