Hey, it's Geb from Email Rev Lab!

I just spent 10 minutes on bodyfortress.com looking for a way to get on their email list. No pop-up. No signup form. No discount offer. Nothing.

For a brand that moves volume at Walmart and CVS, that's a massive missed opportunity.

Body Fortress has been making performance nutrition affordable since 1987. They started in Holbrook, New York, with one mission: give bodybuilders and athletes the same quality ingredients as premium brands, without the premium price. That's why they became America's #1 selling muscle and strength powder brand by volume. Their 60g protein blend with 12g BCAAs sells for under $40 at Walmart.

But affordable pricing doesn't mean anything if you're not capturing buyers' emails. Every single customer who buys their protein at retail is walking out the door with zero connection to the brand. No email. No follow-up. No retention play.

The Missing Infrastructure:

No Pop-up Test:
I checked desktop and mobile. No exit intent. No scroll trigger. No timed pop-up. Body Fortress isn't even trying to collect emails on their site.

No Embedded Forms:
Most brands without pop-ups at least have a footer signup or a "Join Our Newsletter" section. Body Fortress has none of that. Their entire site is product pages and "Shop Now" buttons that send you to Amazon or retail partners.

No Incentive Structure:
Even if they had a form, there's no offer. No discount code. No free workout guide. No reason for someone to hand over their email.

No Welcome Series Waiting:
This is the biggest issue. They can't leak email revenue if they're not collecting emails in the first place. But the moment they turn this on, they need a welcome flow ready to go. Based on what I'm seeing, they don't have that built yet.

The Solution:

Body Fortress needs to implement this in stages:

  1. Pop-up with value exchange (10% off first order or free workout guide PDF). Trigger on exit intent or 30-second scroll delay.

  2. Embedded footer form as a backup for mobile users who dismiss the pop-up.

  3. 3-email welcome series in Klaviyo (Email 1: Deliver discount immediately. Email 2: Product education on BCAA blends and recovery science. Email 3: Social proof from athletes using affordable protein to hit PRs).

  4. Post-purchase flow via Shopify integration (if they move any DTC volume through their site, which right now looks minimal).

Most supplement brands lose 30-40% of their pop-up signups to delivery delays and broken flows.

Body Fortress isn't losing signups. They're not collecting them.

Here's what I'm curious about: Are they running email for retail partners? Do Walmart or CVS buyers ever get follow-up from Body Fortress, or is the brand completely invisible after purchase?

Body Fortress built their reputation on accessibility since 1987. They just need the email infrastructure to match their retail dominance.

I send these audits daily because bottlenecks like this can be fixed in one day with the right information.

Want me to audit your Klaviyo account the same way?

Reply to this email and I'll send you a free breakdown of where your welcome series is leaking revenue.
